HYPNOBIRTHING - What is it?
Hypnobirthing is a combination breathing techniques, visualisations, self hypnosis and deep relaxation that can be used as a pain relief during child birth, it helps to change traditional perspective of painful and fearful birth into a positive one by removing fear and stress so you and your birth partner can be confident and excited about giving birth.
Will I remember birth and be awake?
Absolutely! Hypnobirthing uses method of self hypnosis where you get into deep relaxation state that also acts as time distortion so you can focus on birthing your baby and time passes quicker. In this deep relaxed state you are completely aware and are able to get out this state any time you wish.
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is natural state of relaxation, like meditation or day dreaming when your active mind quietens down so you can focus on positive suggestions or directions, therefore reprogram your mind in a helpful way to remove fear ad become positive about birth.
Does it work?
It has been proven by studies that using hypnbirthing method provides high rates of natural pain-free birth ad reduces risk of interventions like forceps and c-section. Also most of babies that are born with hypnobirthing practices are calmer and more relaxed.
Are there any risks that involve hypnobirthing?
Nope, hypnobirthing is alternative non-invasive technique how to have comfortable and positive birth. It helps you to learn how to keep calm and relaxed. During the course we dont offer any medical advice and we always recommend to contact your midwife or medical professional to seek any medical help or advice.
When can I start practising hypnobirthing?
You can begin practising from 21 weeks, however many women start later between 28-32 weeks. The more time you allow for practising the better you will get at hypnobirthing techniques and the greater mindset you will have.
Can I come on my own?
Yes of course. Any family member or a friend is welcome to support you should you wish so.
What if I have a planned caesarean?
You can most definitely attend and benefit from this course. Hypnobirthing is for everyone who is going to give birth regardless of type of birth. It can help you to stay calm, relaxed and in control in any birthing scenario.
